Latest Christmas Card

With a bit of careful masking I created the snowy hillside, overstamped trees at the top & the Christmas Tree with star at the side, with Kaleidacolor blues. Glued the star and memory box die deer (plain white card stock, covered with glue and glitter added), Crystal stickles used on the Christmas tree for sparkle effect with stick on sentiment in the corner.

Window Frame Christmas Card

Well this is a bit different, a mainly white card. The back is embossed with snowflake folder, lightly covered with versa mark and embossed with holographic embossing powder. The Spellbinders shape is mounted, then the frame with window and distressed card and Acetate to give a glass effect. The flower spray is from a memory box die with the flowers coloured with gold and little gems in the centre. Lastly added the snowflake, held with a gold brad.

Card using Tim Holtz Stamps

Yesterday's make, a birthday card for my brother-in-law Bruce - I used distress inks on white card stock and coloured the little squares with a stencil, the stamps are all Tim Holtz, the two background ones embossed, the hand and the plane just stamped. Happy Birthday Bruce.

Christmas Ball

This was a lot of fun and gave my dies a work out, love the finished look. Start with a polistyrene ball, I painted mine to hide any gaps, pin in the two layers of flowers, one in glitter, one in scrapbooking paper, once positioned, I removed one at a time, glued them with my glue gun and added centres so I knew where I was up to, finished off with a pretty bow.

Cass's Birthday Card

So here is version 2, my second granddaughter turned 17 so this is a take on her older sister's. I so like using a 5" palette, centre is embossed, frame is stamped over the distress inks with a Tim Holtz Stamp, skirt is made with part of a serviette gathered, glitter top free hand cut, shrink plastic cogs and letters cut out with my alphabet die.

Birthday Card

This birthday card I made for my granddaughter Vittoria, 5 " square with mounted frame on top, coloured with distress inks and stamped with dots and distress embossed. The cogs are coloured shrink plastic (I have found that oven shrinking retains shape better than heat gunned). The top I free hand drew, covered with jac paper and orange glitter, then put dimensional glue all over to keep in place. The skirt is made from the top layer of a serviette, peel off the other two layers before pleating. Flowers were white and I coloured with copic pens and centred with glitter, I loved the finished effect.

Shrink Plastic Cogs Birthday Card

After buying some shinky dink for my granddaughter Katie, I was inspired to search out my shrink plastic and create again. I used Tim Holtz Cogs and embossed with gold embossing powder, the card is made with Tim Holtz stamps and the background coloured with distress inks, the gold corner is some mesh I found searching for the shrink plastic, ideal birthday card for Murray's brother Howard.

Just One June

Every month I send a card through Just One (Technique Junkies) to another member participating. This technique is Distress Stain Dip (Oct/Nov 2012). I used my diffusers on the corners and added the die cut ovals, the sentiment is embossed and cut out carefully. I glued old music sheets to a piece of cardstock and used my Tattered Poinsettia die by Tim Holtz to cut out the flower and used distress inks to colour, the edges have gold leafing pen added. Really pleased with the finished result and it is winging it's way to Canada today.

May Vintage Fat Book Page

I found this month's theme a little challenging but with a little help from google images I gained my inspiration, love the image of the contortionist and made it vintage by colouring by giving it sepia tones, the back speaks for itself.

Bereavement Card

I wanted a simple but classic card to give as a Bereavement Card, the rose came to mind and I folded it with 3" in front and 4" at back, embossed spare areas and die cut lace and threaded gold ribbon through. Mounted gold embossed rose and glued to top, put sentiment down side.

Never ending card

This card was a little fiddly to make but the hardest part was the decorating. The paper I chose was two sided so that was easy, it was making it look good for little Miss 10 year old.

Baby Card for Esther

The Image is stamped with stazon black and coloured with water coloured crayons. I added glitter, left to dry and then added dimensional glue to give a lift. The BG is scrapbooking paper and then I used my fleur-de-lis die and cut it in half crosswise and downward and lined up at corners. The flowers are punched from a slightly darker scapbook paper. Sentiment added last.

80th to USA

I am a member of Technique Junkies and another member posted a request for 80th birthday cards for her Mum, I love doing requests like this because of the thrill they must get receiving a card from NZ. I used distress inks of various colours, my cuttlebug on the BG, cut the poinsettia with my Spellbinder's die, an easy card to make

My Copper Clock

So love my new clock, the BG was pounded with a texture hammer and then we used a Brûlée torch to bring out colours. The enamelled pieces were done over a high powered flame, which caused me a few nervous thoughts, but once I got started was OK. The enamelled pieces were mounted over opal covered cardboard shapes, the square was painted and then misted, can't remember with what, the CD was painted with gesso and then copper leaf pressed on, beads added later. Should have had etched numbers but unfortunately mine didn't take so I used die cut numbers.

45th Wedding Anniversary

Today is our 45th Wedding Anniversary and I made this card for Murray. I used gloss cardstock for the BG and stamped with versamark and then covered with white embossing powder. With three complimenting distress inks I coloured the cardstock and when dry rubbed off any surplus ink to expose the swirls. The scrolls were cut from Tim Holtz dies and the sentiment was stamped onto plain white cardstock and cut from a spellbinder's die and to finish off I put 45 in the corner.

Lupita's Birthday Card

Haven't used this stamp in such a long time and I so enjoyed colouring it with copics and bringing it to life. The wings have clear stickles applied to give the a see through look. The BG is done with distress inks and once dry I stamped with my BG stamp with a darker blue. The flowers and butterflies were coloured from white fabric lace and bling applied. I coloured the happy birthday which was gold with a Sharpie pen in the same colour. Bright and cheery with yellow mounting card.

Vittoria's Handbag

Granddaughter Vittoria turned 18 and I made this handbag for her, I scored the background paper in threes making the flap smaller, then ruled lines and used a round shape to round the flap. The flower is made from lots of different dies mounted on top of each other and hearts folded in half with a flower jewel on top, I popped a gift voucher inside which you can see peeping out. The handle was a bit tricky but next time I make one will draw two semi circles instead of cutting and trusting that I won't go wonky.

Card made with Silver Tape

I was given some silver tape at a retreat and didn't really know what to do with it, finally I have made a card using it. Cut a frame as per previous cards, glue on mesh, cogs (you could use anything that would give texture), cover with silver tape (which I think came from a hardware shop) and then colour with Alcohol Inks of your choice. With your embossing tools bring out detail around frame, mount on the BG which I embossed through the cuttlebug and coloured with alcohol inks also, rubbing rather than dabbing. The cogs were once again cut from Aluminium coloured with the same alcohol inks, accessories can be added like the clock and corner ornament and sentiment. Happy Birthday to my nephew Christopher, turning 20 tomorrow.

So Classy this Card

Like so many of my cards, this one evolved as I went along. Cut Cardstock to size desired, I did 4" x 6", colour doesn't matter as it will be covered all over with torn pieces of masking tape. Using Tim Holtz distress inks of your choice colour, apply, blending each colour into the other. I stamped onto heat resistant plastic with gold ink and added embossing powder and heatgunned, applied over the masked card with jac paper. I applied ribbon and sentiment to label & sentiment to top, cut the heart with my cuttlebug and then ran it through again in embossing folder, coloured with distress inks and highlighted with gold buffing cream, then to finish off added dimensional glue, sprinkle of glitter and pearls. Giving it to the lovely ladies that do my nails today @ Tantastic, Upper Hutt.

New Year Card

Cut a 4" x 6" piece of gloss cardstock, stamped my news print stamp with Versamark and used white embossing powder, heatgunned to set. Used three alcohol inks to colour cardstock which seemed to change colour a bit with the white of the embossing powder, but liked the effect. Cut a frame the same size as gloss cardstock, removed the inside, ran through cuttlebug and buffed with silver buffer, glued the clock and the cogs on then used brads to keep permanent. The flower was made with left over aluminium from the previous card, the stamin from glitter card, glued on the 2013 and finished with the Happy New Year made from my label maker. It was very admired at the party we went to, thinking maybe could use glitter instead of buffing cream next time.

Recycled "V" Aluminium Card

Out walking and saw two cans so lovely hubby cut them down and I used them for his birthday card. Cut ends of cans and discard, cut down side and lay flat, being careful not to cut yourself on any jagged edges. Cut a 5" square piece of cardstock, cut out centre piece ( I pencil the inner square on the back and cut with a sharp blade) and put piece of aluminium through your cuttlebug with folder of choice. I used Alcohol Inks to colour, added several colours until I had a combination I liked. Slip aluminium into frame and either glue onto backing board or stick with two sided tape. With Tim Holtz dies I cut the cogs and then mounted them on top of each other with foam mounting tape, finally finishing with a brass cog. Add number of choice and sentiment, love the effect.
