My return Just One for August arrived on Friday and my partner Sue Jeans used one of the latest techniques, vellum sentiment. So love getting mail from the US, increasing my geography skills by looking up where they live. Love your card Sue!
I found the background technique on YouTube and like the effect it gives with part of the background embossed with the cuttlebug folder and then embossed again without cutting with the spellbinders die. I masked the BG and then stamped the cups, cut out another lot of cups and glued over the top to extend the centre border, then carefully cut the steam and glued on top, fiddly but worth it. The images were coloured with my copic markers...
This is my card for August Just One through Technique Junkies... the technique is called Colourful Silhouettes and it is in the latest Newsletter August/September 2011. It is on it's way to Omaha, Nebraska, googled this morning to see all about this area of USA.
Shirley Ross has been my very good friend since I joined Technique Junkies and this is a return RAK to her. I was looking at youtube and found this technique for double embossing, coloured the outside with chalks and stamped and coloured with copics a butterfly on the blank piece of the embossed background, sending away tomorrow.
So pleased with the look of this card I made recently. I started with plain white cardstock and coloured with Tim Holtz distress inks. The scrolls and flowers were all cut from two of Tim Holtz's dies and finished with glitter centres and a dragon fly embellishment. Lots of work but worth the effort, one of my better cards!
