Art from the past

Thought I would add some art from past days as I am busy at present and haven't had a chance to create. Summer has finally come and I am making the most of it, all the bedding has been washed, the doors are all open and I am in shorts and t-shirt, how I love long hot days!

Jinny's Triptych

I received Jinny's triptych and it is just so gorgeous, the building are all done in mosiac form and then painted around. It is proudly displayed on my sideboard at the moment, I now have two pieces of Jinny's fabulous artwork. How the swap worked, each member submitted photos of their triptych and one name was drawn at a time and we could chose, only the coordinator knew the creator of the works of art.

Anniversary Card

Today we are celebrating our 42nd Wedding Anniversary and what an excellent day we have had. We drove over to Greytown in the Wairarapa, had lunch at the French Bakery and then called in to see our daughter-in-law Sandie and two of our granddaughters Ashley & Katie. The card on the left is not one we received but one I made for my sister-in-law Lyn and brother-in-law Howard, they celebrate their anniversary a week ahead of ours, I think they are 48 years, but could be wrong. I coloured the image with copics, highlighted with glitter, so pleased with the look.

City Triptych

I was quite nervous about doing this triptych for a swap but really it wasn't that hard after all. I decided to make the highest building my workplace in Wellington, to celebrate the city and all it's activities. The building in the middle is all about the many visits as a child I made to Wellington to see movies, go to pantomimes, shopping and visiting Mum's friends. The smallest building is to showcase some of the great cities New York, London, Paris and Sydney. So enjoyable doing something different and challenging, try making your own!

Butterfly ATC

I joined a monthly ATC swap with NZ Stampers, a yahoo group and this is my contribution for this month... 1 of 6... the BG is done with distress inks and masked in the corner with a flower, the butterflies have glitter to give them lift and the embossing is done with metallic copper.

Technique Junkies techniques

I decided to use two of Technique Junkies' techniques together from the latest newsletter. Herringbone on the background and painting outside the lines on the image. The rubber stamp image is by Stampers Anonymous and the papers and cardboard by Stamping Up.

Shirley's Christmas Card

My good friend Shirley Ross from North Carolina, USA sent me over this masterpiece and it has taken pride of place on my sideboard. Shirley and I met through Technique Junkies, she has been such an encouragement and inspiration since I joined. Love your card Shirley! Thank you!

Cuttlebug Folder

I love this cuttlebug folder, it embosses so well and saw this idea of ripping and applying another colour top and bottom in a craft shop window in Milford, Auckland, alas it was closed during the Christmas/New Year break so couldn't venture in. I was given this folder by family in Nelson and I was really keen to try it out on a birthday card for my nephew Christopher, the star of the show!

Back Home

Happy New Year to everyone, hope your Christmas was safe, blessed and happy. Murray and I went to Northcote, on the north shore of Auckland. The weather was superb and I have come back with a nice tan. As usual when staying with family we ate too much, time to get ourselves back into eating sensibly. I have posted my beautiful rose given to me when my mum died, I hope to be stamping again this afternoon so watch for new posts, Love Denise
