I have had so much fun this Christmas working through various fold cards on my "Fancy Folds & Motion Paper Craft CD. This was one of my favourites...

Tri Fold Birthday Card
This card is a lot of fun to make! I used alcohol inks, my cuttlebug folders and my spellbinders dies and this is the finished effect.

Mask
I have had so much fun making this mask, it started out white and I painted with Lumiere Indigo, gold glitter, blue glitter, stick on flowers and plumes bought from Spotlight and the silver clip and beads of a necklace bought at the two dollar shop. Every year we have a staff photo taken for our Christmas card and of course this was ideal for me, making a mask.

Waterlily Card
Finally I have located a slot punch and this is the first card made with it. I made a couple of these cards cutting with a scalpel but was never happy with the tidiness of the slot, look how neat this one is. Stamp by Impression Obsession, coloured by copics and I used two different cuttlebug folders on the BG which was coloured by Kaleidacolor Carribean Sea.

BEREAVEMENT CARD
I had a bereavement card to make for a cousin who lost her husband recently. The BG I coloured with Kaleidacolor Riveria then cuttlebugged with two different folders and covered the middle with a cuttlebug cut out. The image made by Impression Obsession was coloured with copics and the sentiment in silver, a sticker. I used a few mini beads on the flowers and the plumes, and put a small heart under the sentiment.

BDay Card
This card was done with a brayered BG, coloured with one of my kaleidacolor stamp pads and put through my cuttlebug. The coffee cup was coloured with copic pens and amazing glaze gives it the shiny glossy look, a bit of glitter gives it zing. The sentiment was a happy birthday sticker and I cut the scalloped edge with my spellbinder die. Happy Birthday Howard!

Thank you LaVerne
LaVerne, an American TJ sent me this exquisite card, it is just so beautiful and I love the colours! She has used one of the TJ techniques Re-Inker Splash and the textures on the splashed bit feel crusty in parts, which adds to it's charm. The digi image was downloaded from Squigglefly, must look up and see what is available.Thank you so much LaVerne. Hey, just as a little side note, Praise God, I am going to be 60 tomorrow!

April's ATC
This week has flown by and tomorrow I am off to Brisbane for work leaving at 6.15am in the morning, I have to be at the airport at 4.15am so an early start for me. The theme for this month was children, I am a bit lacking in this area for stamps so used this one and coloured with my water colour crayons, they faded with the scan so had to boost the colour with help from the iphoto software. Next month's theme is black and white.

Good Friday
Today is Good Friday, the day we commemorate Jesus dying on the cross to save all mankind. We are off to Nelson for our son's 40th birthday tomorrow, travelling down on the Bluebridge ferry. The day has dawned with no wind so the Cook Strait between the North and South Island will be calm. I made this card to give him and coloured the image with my copic markers. Really looking forward to spending Easter with our son and family, quite a while since we have been to the South Island. Happy Easter everyone!

Copic Markers
This week has been an adventure discovering how to use my copic markers more effectively with the help of my TJ friend Ann Clack, she has given me so many good tips and a website which has clear instructions and tutorials. This is the card I made this morning to send to her as a big thank you, she is the greatest, as is Melanie who I have purchased the markers through. So good to have the help of stamping friends.

Double Bugging
Double Bugging - a technique junkie technique - I decided to use yellow after seeing cards posted in yellow and really liking them. The pear is a stamp I used to have and it perished so much to my delight saw it on trademe and was able to purchase again. I stamped it with my kaleidacolor stamp pad in browns and then covered with metallic copper embossing powder which gives the pear a nice sheen.

RAK for Muriel
RAK for my friend Robyn
Made this card for my friend Robyn in Robina, Qld, we have been friends for a long time. The technique is a TJ one and it was easy to make and look cheery. The cup and saucer and the coffee pot are both Montargo stamps, I used them as I wanted Robyn to know that I would love to pop in and have a cuppa.

RAK for Germaina
I so like slicing up cards and making them to look like window frames. I made this BG a long time ago and was searching through a drawer for something else and decided to use it, it truly was a forgotten treasure. The images are all embossed with metallic bronze embossing powder (Judi-Kins) except for the little rabbits which I stamped in detail black and the Best Wishes which I cover with Fantasy Torquoise.

Ben's BDAy Card
I did a card for Ben and then at the last moment decided to do a new one. My new brayer is great and I used Kaleidacolor fresh greens and then cuttlebugged and then ran over it with the stamp pad to give greater lift to the raised bubbles. Murray gave me the pukeko stamp - a New Zealand swamp hen, several years ago, but I had never used it, the swirls in the BG make for a ferny look. I added Amazing Glaze after colouring and a Happy Birthday to finish it off.

Watercolour Crayons
This card started with the use of all the pink crayons in my watercolour set and I masked each section to pick up the definition between each colour. When dry I stamped the image with a light stamp pad and then with the darker to give a shadow effect. I used the scor-pal to give more interest, applied a ribbon and the spell binder scallop & happy birthday circle. The hardest part was finding cardboard to look good with the colour of the background. :)

Brayer Card
So thrilled with my new brayer... my old one was getting past it and wasn't transferring as well as it used to. I used gloss card, my favourite leaf stamp and stamped the image with versamark ink. I brayered on top with kaleidacolor bouquet stamp pad, a ribbon to highlight, tied in a knot and then on cream card stamped the image again and added the sentiment on top. Voila, a quick and pretty card...

Red & White ATC Swap
This is the theme for the ATC Swap through NZ Stampers for this month, I have signed up to do a 6-4-5 swap each month through 2010. Well, we all have days when our artwork looks great and we decide to add that little extra and just like that it doesn't work. Today was one of those days, I reached this point and decided to add glitter and it looked awful so had to redo these but I decided that it didn't matter and this time no glitter. I am really pleased with the final look, distress inks in fired brick and worn lipstick - love these inks so easy to work with.
