Christmas snow flakes

Even though we don't have snow at Christmas, we still love to do our Christmas cards with snowflakes. I coloured matt card with Kaleidacolor blue breeze, stamped and embossed my snowflakes and added a Christmas tree in the corner. I used a rub on for the sentiment and highlighted the card with crystal glitter glue, so it sparkles.

Alcohol Inks

I so enjoy working with alcohol inks and as you can stamp onto and emboss immediately, they allow for a quick and easy card. I used bottle, denim & terra cotta and the image is by Impression Obsession.

Love Distress Inks

Love this theme as you can tell by the many varying versions of it. I bought this tree image many years ago but couldn't quite get it to work but on these cards it works great.

Dark Room Door Stamps

I bought this Christmas set at SENZ and have used it so much, love the background writing and the postage and block believe & hope stamps, the dear prancing gives it life.

Love this mouse

This is an Impression Obsession image and I love it! The background was done with Kaleidacolor stamp pad in Blue Breeze and then I sandpapered over the cuttlebug embossing to give it the white highlights, very easy and I find it prevents the white ink down in the ditch look.

Really like this style of card so couldn't resist making another... I am sending this Christmas Card to a stamping friend in Australia.

5 x Christmas Cards

Christmas Card made in a hurray along with four that look much the same, thought I had two weekends to go before Christmas but no, only one. It is very simple, Christmas paper put through the cuttlebug, spellbinder pendent die cut, cut out stamped image, added glitter highlights and my new distress stickles on the leaves.

I made this so long ago, cannot remember what ink I used on the background, have a feeling it was alcohol inks and then I cuttlebugged it, a ribbon to give it a lift, an embossed sentiment and the stars to make it pop... it is on it's way to Nelson today.

I love distress inks, they are easy to work with and after watching Tim Holtz yesterday on youtube making a tag I came home and made this card. Lots of different stamping on top, plus embossing the snowflakes and then highlighting with glitter, easy but effective.

Christmas Card 1

This is my first Christmas Card sent, it is at this very time on its to Dubai, where my niece Sharyn and her husband live with their two children. I used matt cardstock, sprayed with memories mists in three different blues, then ran a Brilliance stamppad in white over the top, a ribbon and a sentiment and the card was done.

Jinny's masterpiece

I belong to a group called NZ Stampers and a group of us met in Levin at Yvonne's shop for a day of crafting. We all put in for a secret santa and I picked out Jinny's offering and what a masterpiece, I so love it and it now hangs proudly in the hallway.

My sister-in-law's birthday card

I couldn't resist this paper yesterday, it is just so pretty and I bought these flowers on Sunday at the craft day we had for NZ Stampers. I used a spellbinders pendant die and a cuttlebug die for hearts and leaf scroll...

Bingo Blast

This card was so much fun to make & the technique is one from Technique Junkies. Using three different Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabbers & misting water on the sponge applicators, blast the paints onto plain white cardboard. I found it was best to do each one indivually & let each colour dry before applying the new one. Some of the blasts didn't splatter, so I reapplied the water & repeated, so much fun... an overstamped and embossed swirl for a lift and one of my favourite sentiments mounted on top. Voila, an easy, fun card.

18th Wedding Anniversary

This card would not scan well so I took a photo, our son Damien and our beautiful daughter-in-law Jamie celebrated their 18th Wedding Anniversary yesterday - what an achievement!

Our front garden

When we first moved into our house the front garden was full of grasses and flaxes... Murray removed them all and we have put in mainly roses, ground covers and other flowering plants. We have had a very wet winter which seems to have agreed with the roses, as they are all out in masses of colour.

Birthday Card

Murray's cousin Stella has her birthday tomorrow so before going into Wellington I made this card with my spellbinders pendant and using stampin up paper and stamp.

WTA Card for November

Love this card, like the way it turned out... the BG was done with distress inks, overstamped with white embossing and the heart was painted with H2O's.

WTA flip side

This is the flip side to the page I did, wanted to create something really different to the first... again I used matt card and coloured it with my Kaleidacolor Cappuccino Delight stamp pad and then went over it with Brilliance coffee bean to give the pattern a lift, coloured the coffee cup image with tombows.

November WTA

This month we have two Winner Take All... the first is a double page to make into a book, the second is a Card... this is page 1 of the double page. I coloured with blue ink on matt card and then masked the crown and the swirl and went over with distress blue, then overstamped with white embossing.

Glitter Tree

This card was made with a stamped and embossed bakground and the tree image was done with one of the green plastic templates and glitter, has a nice effect... the glitter sparkles.

Vada's RAK to me

I love my stamping friend Vada's cards and what a thrill to receive one last week... I love the sentiment and it made me very happy receiving such a work of art.

Dublin Bay

So good to see our roses all coming out and the garden does look a picture... Dublin Bay is always the first out and the wet winter must have agreed with it as it is a mass of buds.

Yahoo, was so thrilled, I won these stamps on trade me, lots of sparkle on this card, doesn't come through on the scan but really thrilled with the look...

Christmas Card

Created this Christmas Card with a cuttlebugged background, I used to cover with a white stamp pad but now sandpaper the snow flakes and take off the ink, have more success doing this. I stamped the ornament image, masked it and over stamped it, a ribbon and two little hearts and I am very happy with this look.

TJ Rainbow Double

It is Christmas Card making time at the moment and I do so like this technique. The image is by Montarga, Christchurch, NZ and I used diamond sparkle embossing powder to give my card a lift.

Stampin Up Image

I made this birthday card for my lovely daughter-in-law Jamie, it uses the stampin up set "Inspired by Nature". The butterfly in the corner was using a cardboard shape and covering with opals and stamped into.

Winner Take All

I belong to NZ Stampers and they are running a Winner Take All project at the moment, this is my card entry. How this works, we add a scan of a card we have made and then a winner is drawn and they receive all those cards by mail...

Clematis

Isn't spring a great time of the year... our clematis is covered with flowers this year, perhaps all the winter rain agreed with it.

ATC

I got all enthusiastic and made some ATC's for a swap and then realised the theme was in the small print and had to repeat, but I did so like this one...

Auckland, New Zealand

This photo of Auckland was taken from the harbour bridge which connects the North Shore with Auckland. What a great weekend we had in Auckland, the weather was good, the 60th birthday party was a great affair and Murray and I caught up with our lovely niece from Dubai. Auckland is a very large city, my sister is one side and Murray's brother the other side on the North Shore so without a car, as we flew up, not able to see everyone we would have liked to have seen, next time.

Quick Card needed

We are off to Auckland for my husband's youngest brother's 60th birthday and I realised that his older brother needed one also so mad rush to make. I used distress inks, and then coloured over the top with tombows. He lives by the sea and is a keen yachtie so quite appropriate.

Flower Swap

This flower swap really was a problem for me, I seem to get an absolute block when I have to create 6 cards the same. I started four different cards and even this one I am unsure about. The BG is done with opalite stamp pads and then cuttlebugged, I coloured the flowers and put microbeads over the centres (wish I hadn't) but they are being sent today as swap closes on the 21st October.

Distress Inks

At first I found distress inks a challenge but did a class at SENZ (Stamping Expo New Zealand) and now I love them, I stamped on white cardboard with my newsprint stamp then masked and covered with two different distress inks and then overstamped with the flower and diamond stamp. The letters are covered with opals (thick embossing powder) and then stamped into with the newsprint stamp.

I often find a male card difficult to do but these beautiful images make male cards easy. The BG was created on gloss card with a Kaleidacolor stamp pad... and I cuttlebugged the original layer...

Birthday Card for Ben

My nephew has muscular atrophy and he was turning 13 so I wanted him to feel extra special, so this idea came to me about stopping the press to anounce his birthday. My sister is the most incredible mum, she not only is a carer for Ben, but she works full-time and has many other activities she is involved in. I ripped up bits from a magazine and then looked through for the happy birthday items on the top.

My good friend Shirley put me on to Impression Obsession Rubber Stamps and I love this image, the background is done with opalites on black card, I gave it to one of our cousins on her 70th birthday.

What a fun card to make, I so enjoyed blasting my daubers to create the background and then embossing a swirl to give it a lift...

Alcohol Inks with Cuttlebug Embossing

This is a recent card I made, I used two Alcohol Inks (Denim was one, sorry can't remember the other ) and a silver fixative on gloss card. Alcohol Inks dry very quickly so was able to emboss with my cuttlebug immediately, I had already coloured in my stamped image and with a ribbon and sentiment to set it off, a quickly assembled card.

I SPY QUILT

My third granddaughter laying on her I Spy Quilt when I was making it. I am now making one for her sister Katherine, hope to have it completed by Christmas 2009.

I have finally purchased a spellbinders pendant die set and this is the first card I made, the background is embossed with a cuttlebug folder.

I am a fan of Alcohol Inks, they give such a great background to a card and can be stamped on easily with Stazon, I also painted the leaf, grapes and cheese with Alcohol Inks.

Sympathy Card made with Spellbinders dies

I made this card using a flower design found on Becca's online site Amazing Paper Grace... the flower was made with three different sizes of scalloped Spellbinders Dies and my scor-pal. The card was made for a very special friend Jocelyn who recently lost her husband. Not a card you can post so would be better for someone you can hand deliver to. Below is a close up of the flower.
