Opalites

This is my new cuttlebug embossing folder and my first attempt at using it. I coloured a plain black piece of cardstock with three of my opalite stamp pads, then put it through the cuttlebug using the embossing folder. I ran my finger over with copper buffing cream to lift up the embossing, tied a ribbon and then slipped the stamp image down inside, finally stamped the sentiment. Voila, a simple card!

Grungy Wings Shrine

Really pleased with the look of this, we assembled our shrines, painted with gesso and then stuck a photo inside. I chose a picture of two men standing beside an old steam train, we coved with different colour inks to give it an antique look and attached the wings. The bullets below, we glued together and the wrapped a cigar wrapper around them to cover the join. Oh forgot to mention that the chain went in as I assembled it. To the door we attached a door knob and screws to attach it to the hinge and I glued it to the shrine and covered the holes with two little pearls.

Just One September

For my September Just One I decided to do an early Christmas Card. My Partner lives just out of Perth and the technique I chose is called Colour Pop. I mixed glue with each paint colour and applied with baking paper, sprinkled glitter in places and it looks shiny and a bit lumpy, really cool and so easy. The image is by Montarga in Christchurch and I coloured it in with my copic pens.

Heart Shrine

Went to this amazing camp last weekend at Forest Lakes and was challenged by the projects but one by one I am managing to get them completed. Annette Husband came from Humpty Doo, 45 kms from Darwin and taught us all some amazing things. This is the heart shrine and the little room inside the doorway is a matchbox.

Charms for Stamp Camp

Off to Stamp Camp next week and finally all my charms are made. I bought dominos at the $2 shop and altered them with opals which I stamped into. The backs of the charms have stick on felt and I bought the hooks from Mitre 10 and Murray added them this morning.
